Highlights

  • Yulara to Uluru (Ayers Rock): This afternoon we set out to boulder-strewn landscape of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Wandering through the site's gullies and crevices, you'll learn a little about the area's geological and ecological significance from your guide. The perfect end to a remarkable day is awaiting you back at camp, as you enjoy a delicious spread of food with your group. If the weather permits, sit outside under the stars. Accommodation: Permanent tented camp (with shared facilities) Notes: Total driving time is approximately one hour. Total walking time is around an hour.
  • Uluru to Kings Canyon: An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise. While the morning is fresh enjoy a walk around the base of the rock, gaining insights into the land and the local Mala people on an interpretive cultural walk with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Guide. Once you've had lunch, perhaps purchase some art and craft of the First Peoples of Australia, at the Uluru Cultural Centre. Travel onto the exclusive campsite within Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where the group will eat and sleep for the night. Accommodation: Permanent tented camp (with shared facilities) Note: Total driving time today is around three and a half hours. Total walking time is approximately two hours (or up to 4 if you do the full 8.5km base walk.)
  • Kings Canyon Rim Walk: While Kings Canyon is only one of the many attractions within Watarrka National Park, Kings is so impressive that more people know it than the park. After a quick breakfast, we'll venture into the canyon and start the Rim Walk. Beginning in the vast natural Amphitheatre (where you're free to test out the acoustics), we'll enter upon the Lost City and descend down into the fern-shaded rock pools of the Garden of Eden. A visit to the imposing North and South Walls is another must before lunch. Then we drive on to Alice Springs, a relative metropolis in these surroundings, for goodbyes. Note: Total driving time takes around five hours. Total walking time is approximately three hours.

Was du mitbringen solltest

  • What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the countries you are visiting and when you are travelling.
  • Generally speaking, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances.
  • Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly.
  • Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps.
  • You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, and jacket etc. when you're exploring during the day.
