Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock): Melbourne might have the arts scene and Sydney the beaches, but Alice Springs is really where you need to go to understand Australia proper. Approximately 70% of the Australian continent is classed as arid or semi-arid – and little old Alice Springs sits right in the middle of it all. Whereas Uluru emerges from the earth as one giant boulder form, Kata Tjuta pops up as 36 different domes – you'll get to know the site pretty well on an afternoon hike following lunch. As evening begins, enjoy some tasty snacks as the sun sets over Uluru casting incredible colours. The perfect end to a remarkable day is awaiting you back at camp, as you enjoy a delicious spread of food with your group. If the weather permits, sit outside under the stars. Today, driving time is approximately 4.5 hours. Walking is approximately one hour.
Uluru to Kings Canyon: An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise as the sun hits the icon like a beacon, before the light floods the surrounding landscape. Your guide will take you to one of the significant cultural sights of Uluru, outlining Anangu rock art and passing on one of the creation stories of the site. While the morning is fresh, the time is yours to enjoy the self-guided, full base walk of Uluru, taking in all of the textures and valleys up-close, which isn't evident from afar. Once you've had lunch, perhaps purchase some art at the Cultural Centre, hand-crafted by local First Nation Peoples of the Western and Central Deserts. Travel onto our exclusive campsite near the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where the group will have dinner and enjoy the stars. Note: Total driving time today is around three and a half hours. Total walking time is approximately two hours (or up to 4 hours if you do the full 8.5km / 5.3mi base walk.)
Kings Canyon Rim Walk: After breakfast, get your hiking shoes on and head out to explore the impressive formations of Kings Canyon. You'll be left breathless by the sheer beauty of the canyon, as you trek through the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. Lunch is a welcome prospect, before you make your way back to Alice Springs. On arrival, you're free to leave and carry on your travels but please ensure departing flights are booked for the following day. Note: Total driving time takes around five hours. Total walking time is approximately three hours.

What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the countries you are visiting and when you are travelling.
Generally speaking, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances.
Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly.
Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps.
You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, and jacket etc. when you're exploring during the day.
